Anyway, I was looking through some of the "better" pulls I've gotten through the years and came across my favorite two. Then I began thinking about the last time I had Waffles...
...
Then I started thinking, if you had to choose between the two, which would you rather have?
Card #1:

2001 Donruss Signature "Notable Nicknames" Harmon Killebrew auto #d 100
I strangely remember alot about this box. It cost $75. It contained 25 cards, including 2 #d rookies and an Auto. It was one of the first boxes I got after getting back into collecting. I remember hearing about someone named, like... Albert... something. Don't remember that part, but he had a rookie in the set that was like, a super big deal. So I took a chance.
Again, this was when I first began collecting again and when I took my break, I had missed the whole Autographed and Game Used explosion. So when I pulled this, I thought it was cool I got a Killebrew card, but didn't really understand it. "Is it real?" I remember asking myself that. I just didn't get it.
Now I do.
And now it makes me happy.
Card #2:

2007 SP Authentic "Chriography" Tim Lincecum/Matt Cain auto #d 175
Another first. I got a couple boxes of this, I wanted to put together the base set and it wasn't too much per box so what the hell. I remember when I opened the pack, the redemption card fell out. I'd never gotten a redemption before, but I knew what it was. I saved it for last, after I opened all the packs. I got my promised "hits" and then took a gander.
BOOM
Right there.
These are by far the two best pulls I've ever gotten. If you had to choose between the two, which would you pick?
(...Joe)

The Dual, but I love Matt Cain.
ReplyDeleteI like waffles.
ReplyDeleteKillebrew. You can actually read his autograph. (Maybe if Lincecum had a real autograph instead of a scribble, I'd prefer the dual).
ReplyDeleteI go with the Killebrew. Something about a HOF auto makes it a little more special.
