Tradewinds

A quick question: When do cards become considered "vintage"? Is it after a certain amount of time, like when a set is let's say, 25 or 30 years old. Or is there a stopping point such as anything 1979 or later is vintage and anything newer is not. I've always viewed it as the latter. That was just something I thought about today.

Anyways...

I am the absolute worst at posting all my trades. I seem to trade in bunches, so I'll get a few going at the same time, which results in them all showing up at relatively the same time. Shouldn't be a big deal right? I take a few pictures and then I have some minimum thought required material to post for a few days. EXCEPT for the fact that when I get everything, I'm so anxious to look through all the cards, set them up in their respective binders and mark them off the "Team Checklists" notebooks that I lose which cards were just traded to me, let alone who they came from. To all those I have shunned, I apologize greatly.

I did however, manage to take some pics before going all organize-y for this most recent swap. I saw a couple cards off Emerald City Diamond Gems' want list that I knew I could pick up and sent him an email. He sent back a great little package that included an '81 Donruss Team Set. I'll showcase of the cards starting with...

Dr. Mike Scott. Why "Dr."? That's another post for another time.

Joe Torre. I hope he's not the Mets manager next year. Let's face it, he's not a good national league manager. Take away all the years with the Yankees and you've got a .500 guy. I just hope they're not gonna bring him in just because he's the "big name" out there.

True story. Every time the name "Mookie Wilson" is said aloud, a Red Sox fan loses 7.3 years off their life. Now the question isn't could I make that up, it's would I...

Also included in the box was a Piazza and a Wright I didn't have as well as a 1991 Pacific Nolan Ryan set. Very cool. I wanna start doing more posts showcasing the team sets I have, since that's my true cornerstone, so I'll probably do a post for that one soon.

Thanks again to ECDG! Your cards should be in the mail tomorrow dude!

  1. You aren't alone in the trade post thing... We all feel the guilt of not posting everything we get, but we all trade in bunches and get overwhelmed... I have a package from Emerald City that has been sitting on my desk for like 8 months... Good stuff. Anxious to hear more about Dr. Scott. Cheers!
