Tradewinds

So in addition to all the craziness I pulled from the mailbox yesterday, I had 2 more packages waiting for me today! We'll dive right into everything, combining one from yesterday and one from today. They both had a vintage flavor that tied them together nicely.

First up, a trade David over at "e rayhahn, rayhahn" (did I spell that right? I think I did...)
I love it when trades are are done in 3 emails or less. Nice, quick and easy (that's what she said). Granted, I'm the one who usually complicates the matter 90% of the time (did you know that 57% of all statistics are made up) but that's not the point.

Mr.Rhubarb saw some stuff off the trade bait page and sent me a list of Mets stuff he had up for trade. A plethora of vintage Mets is what dominated that list and I jumped on it! Here's what I got...

A couple of '71s in the vein of Gil Hodges and Jerry Koosman. There were, I believe, 5 Mets in the bag my Uncle gave me and I've picked up a few others here and there for the team set, but haven't really given it my full attention yet. I think it might be time I do that soon.

"At what number do the 'High Numbers' start becoming the 'High Numbers'" I thought to myself while looking at this card. Hmm, '71 Topps... Ah. At #644. This is card number 641. Drats.

Also included in this small but awesome package (that's what she said) was a 2005 Topps David Wright that I didn't have.

Next up is from Fuji over at "Chronicles of Fuji" curtosey of a contest he recently held. He had a couple of different prizes and they were randomed off to the winners who were randomed off. I got s bunch of unopened '90 fleer basketball packs (trade anyone?) but the real goodness came with what he threw in as extras...

'66 Jim Hickman and '67 Jon Reynolds. 2 '60s era vintage I guess he just happened to have lying around. Dude, that was awesome... Thanks! (that's what she said)

But this was the best card of the winnings, another throw in...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the South Park parallel version of a 2008 Topps Fuji On-Card Auto! I think it would be a great idea to make up a set of cards that included all of the card blogs and have everyone sign their respective card. Each blog would get a set and everything. Would that be possible to do?

Thanks again guys and I'm already looking for more stuff for future trades!

P.S- 3 "that's what she said"s in one post? Bleh, I can do better. (that's what she said)

4. Sweet.

  1. 2008 ALlen and Ginter Card-scape is trying to blogger auto thing. I know Night Owl posted about it, as he, Troll, and Wicked are in the set so far. I'm wondering who else will make the checklist!

Here's a link to what they have so far: http://cardscape.blogspot.com/search/label/Blogger%20Edition
