A few hours after I posted the "S.O.S" post, I checked my email and found something from "Strat-O-Matic Baseball. I would have bet money on the fact that it was just Spam. I decided to read it and then would have bet even more money that it was Spam. I entertained the thought though and sent an email back, making sure to let Jay, the head of marketing, know that I was skeptical. Finally, today I called the office number from the 1st email and talked to him about it.

Well, it's legit!
I sent him back my address and he'll be sending a couple games over. In the mean time, I'll be thinking of a way to contest them off.
Honestly, the most I know about Strat-O-Matic is that Lenny Dykstra played it as a kid but after reading what I could find about it, it may be what I was looking for in response to that "S.O.S" post, which will be (hopefully) a way get you guys some cards courtesy of myself.

Rest assured, I'll still be doing my thing the same way I have, with funny pictures of cartoon dogs and what not.
We'll see, hopefully this'll be something interesting and fun for myself and everyone. (Dude, that totally just rhymed!)

I got the same email today! I hadn't had time to read it real close yet.
ReplyDeleteHmm, interesting. Basically, after talking to him, I'm throwing a logo on the page and he's gonna send some games. There didn't seem to be any tricks involved.
ReplyDeleteI've already talked to Jay and have games in hand to play and do a write up on at some point. It sounded interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great game. I'm doing the contest too. I'll need to come up with a creative way to give the games away. :)
