Last Box, 1998 SPx!!!!

I will start off by saying this. This post will do absolutely no justice to how cool this set is!

Basic info: Hobby
18 packs
3 cards per pack

What we're chasing: Home Run Hysteria (Randomly inserted) #/62
Spectrum 1 0f 1's

Every card in this set is numbered. Pretty cool. The most common are #d to 9,000 with the subsets #d anywhere from 7,000 to 4,500. Each card has 2 parallels, spectrum and Radience, and are embossed with a logo. Oh yeah, they're super shiny too!

Unfortunately, the camera died so I couldn't get all the Spectrums and Radience cards, but I got a few Spectrums and a base to showcase.

First some Spectrums...

Randy Johnson, Jason Kendall

Quinten McCraken. I swear, this has to be a stage name!

Travis Lee, Jose Cruz Jr. If we had broken this back in '98, these cards probably could have bought us a house.

The lone Met of the box. I'll take it though.

So that's all I was able to get off the camera before it committed suicide. Like I said, these cards are extremely cool. Unfortunately, not every team was represented, including the Yankees! That's right, I said it- Not a single Yankee from the box! Damn that feels good. I'll make it up to Wicked though...

That's it, the last box! Hopefully you guys are happy with the results and it helped to fill some holes in some collections. This was alot of fun for me to host and I'll definitely want to do this again. Maybe not for free, but another group break nonetheless. So I'll most likely take a day or two off from here, catch up on reality and then I'll begin taking addresses and getting everyone's cards out.

Thanks again to everyone for joining and everyone who posted a link to help fill out the teams! Also, thanks to Baseball Card Exchange for having the boxes for super cheap and being cool enough to handle my change of address fuck up.

  1. Two Pedros and no Yankees; sir you just busted one of the greatest boxes of all time.

  2. Ooo two serial #'s? I don't even care that they're doubles - serial #'s are one of my favorite things, so this is like my favorite box of the break! Woohoo!

  3. Another excellent choice for a break! I love the fact that everything is serial #'d.
