I'm the family dog. My hobbies include (but are not limited to):
Barking
Sniffing
Knocking things over with my tail
Waking up Joe 3 hours before his alarm goes off
Playing with Squeaky toys
and BALLS!!!
I really enjoy playing with balls. Tennis balls, softballs, soccer balls and of course, Baseballs!
I have my fair share of balls that I play with and keep under the couch, for safe keeping of course. And if I hide them all well enough, I'll get a new one when it's time to play catch!
I've been watching Joe add new cards to his collection and I've done some snooping around on everyone's Blog. I've noticed that we all have our favorites and our not so favorites. One thing in particular I've noticed is that we all have our "White Whales." For some it's that super rare 1/1 or that last card to finish off a set. Well this one is mine...

I want it
I want it
I WANT IT!!!!
It's been scribbled on by David Wright. I watch all the Mets games and know all the players. Again, my name is Shea, I don't have any other choice.
Every day, I see it. Just sitting there, on his desk. It's perfectly white and round and clean and I know that if I could just get a few minutes with it that I could change all that. It makes no sense to keep a perfectly good ball locked up inside some, box or force field or whatever is holding it. I remember him bringing it home and being so excited! I thought to myself "He seems awfully happy to be giving me that ball!" I proceeded to give it a nice sniff and then he explained to me that if I ever chew on this, he'll shave a mowhawk clean down my back. Could you imagine? I'd have no fur on my butt. That's the best place to receive fluffings!
So with the threat of being fuzzless I've kept my distance. Oh sure, when he's at work, I'll stop by and steal a few sniffs, but I'm always careful to not get too excited or my tail will knock it over. And that's just bad news bears right there.
So that's part of my story. Do any other canines out there have this problem? Am I the only one being held astray from the perfect ball by the threat of being whiskerless?

Nice post Shea. My two dogs (Riley & Marley) would like to get at a whole case of baseballs that they can see but not reach.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA, nice post. Fun read. Hope to hear from you again Shea.
