Red Sox vs Yankees

I wanted to try and actually start and finish the first round of the American League today, but this may be the days only post. I gotst sick last night, which means I put myself on my regimen of ice cream and beer. You wouldn't believe how tired that makes you...

Red Sox Roster:
Hitting- Jason Bay "Copper" #/99
David Ortiz "Red"
Josh Reddick "Red" RC
Mike Lowell "Red''
Aaron Bates
Jason Bay
Jacoby Ellsbury
David Ortiz
Victor Martinez
Mike Lowell
Dustin Pedroia
Josh Reddick RC
Pitching- Daisuke Matsuzaka "Red"
Daisuke Matsuzaka
Josh Beckett
Jon Lester
Total cards (not including doubles)- 16

Yankees Roster:
Hitting-Johnny Damon/Alex Rodriguez/Robinson Cano "Triple Threat" auto #/10
Alex Rodriguez "Unparalleled Performances 'Gold'" #/25
Alex Rodriguez "Red"
Robinson Cano
Alex Rodriguez
Derek Jeter
Jorge Posada
Mark Teixeira
Pitching- A.J. Burnett
Joba Chamberlain
C.C. Sabathia
Total cards (not including doubles)- 11

The Red Sox are favorites for the American League I believe. They've got 16 total cards with 5 parellels which will be tough to beat. Also, I'm staying true to my word about the Rodriguez cards but in exchange, the Yankees will be immune to the pitchers advantage. Will it be enough?

Josh Reddick vs Jorge Posada
Well, there goes the sweep for the Red Sox.
Red Sox- 15 Yankees-11

Aaron Bates vs Alex Rodriguez "UP" #/25
Once again, holding true to my word!
Red Sox-15 Yankees-10

Jason Bay vs Alex Rodriguez
Am I feeling guilty yet? Nope.
Red Sox-15 Yankees-9

Jacoby Ellsbury vs "Triple Threat" Auto
OK, nowww I'm starting to feel guilty.
Red Sox- 15 Yankees-8

Josh Reddick "Red" vs Robinson Cano
The Red Sox's first honest win. Granted, it comes off a parallel vs base scenario, but still...
Red Sox-15 Yankees-7

David Ortiz "Red" vs A-Roid "Red"
Fun drinking game, last year while watching baseball games on ESPN, every time the Morgan or Milner said "Alex Rodriguez" I took a drink. Couldn't make it past the 3rd inning.
Red Sox-15 Yankees-6

Dustin Pedroia vs Derek Jeter
Call him overrated or whatever you will. Jeter will go down as a great, however if we were to have this conversation in another 10 years, it may be closer.
Red Sox-14 Yankees-6

David Ortiz vs Mark Teixeira
While the hitting is comparable, Teixeira is a gold glove first baseman. Ortiz is a DH.
Red Sox-13 Yankees-6

Jason Bay "Copper" #/99 vs Jorge Posada
IN THE FACE!!!!!!
Sorry, not really sure where that came from. But yeah, Bay is the only "Copper" in the American league, so that card is all but unbeatable.
Red Sox-13 Yankees-5

Mike Lowell "Red" vs Derek Jeter
Another match-up won on the power of a parallel,
Red Sox-13 Yankees-4

Mike Lowell vs Mark Teixeira
This is the last hitter left for the Yankees, let's see how long he holds up.
Red Sox-12 Yankees-4

Victor Martinez vs Mark Teixeira
Oh, this is the last hitting match-up. Sooo that's about how long Teix will hold up...
Red Sox-11 Yankees-4

Jon Lester vs C.C. Sabathia
Does anyone know what C.C stands for?
Red Sox-10 Yankees-4

Dice-K vs Joba Chamberlain
Oh God. This is terrible. Two immense busts, I think I'm just gonna tie this one.
Red Sox-10 Yankees-4

Josh Beckett vs A.J Burnett
Hey Yankee fans, think you know how it feels to have Oliver Perez on your team? The answer is no, no you don't...
Red Sox-10 Yankees-2

Dice-K "Red" vs C.C. Sabathia
And the parallel caps it off. It's all over.
Red Sox-10 Yankees-1

Final Score- Red Sox-10
Yankees-1

Kinnda one sided. Can't imagine why. But hey, if BA Benny doesn't want the "Triple Threat" then maybe we can work out some kind of deal...

  1. I thought you were kidding, when you said A-Rod would lose in Pack Wars...this is madness!

Take it easy and hope you get better.
