Wait 'Till Next Year

Wednesday morning, I woke up at 8:30am, turned on MLB Network, put on my Mike Piazza jersey and then waited. I waited until 2pm for the HOF results to be announced.

Finally, 2:00 came and then results were announced. The envelope was opened and then...there were none. No one, no one was voted in.

Well, that sucks.

Most people were focused on Jack Morris, Barry Bonds and some dickless abomination of God named Roger Clemens.  But I really only cared about that fact that my favorite player was on the ballot of the first time, Mike Piazza!

Obviously, he wasn't elected in at 57.8% but honestly, I wasn't banking on him getting in first year anyways cuz, well...the writers are dicks. But we all know this by now.

So much like the Dodgers of years past and carried on by Mets fans of the present, I must wait until next year before I can see my favorite player be elected into Baseball's Hall of Fame. In the meantime, I will continue to post pictures, write short stories and pursue Piazza cards online and in trades for all the world to see. And after he's elected into the Hall, I'll continue to shove my collection down everyone's throat. Because, well...I'm a writer!

  1. Rest assured, since no one got in this year, they'll elect 5 or 6 next year.
