So when I stopped back into my LCS I felt the need to grab another pack since I was left so unsatisfied. This time though, I turned my attention to the 2011 Bowman packs. No, I wasn't trying to chase down a Harper auto. All I wanted to do was open something on the cheaper side. That and I didn't have any Mets from that set yet, so there's that too. I picked up 2 of them for $3 each, let's look at the first one...
2011 Bowman Hobby Pack
Topps proved that it has no problem pushing the envelope and they let us know that with this years Bowman wrapper. I'm not sure what the giant douchebag on the wrapper is supposed to represent but I'll be damned if I don't like my corporations with a little edge on them.
Too bad I'm not a Rockies fan. I don't hate the design for this, however, I do think it would have looked much much better if all the veteran cards were horizontal.
Is anyone else afraid that the moment Derek Jeter retires, Topps is going to make card #2 of every single set a Jeter card?
The "Topps 100" is of Garin Cecchini who is being ranked as the Red Sox #10 overall prospect for whatever that's worth.
The 2 base rookies or prospects or whatever the hell. Another #10 organizational prospect in the Brewers Amaury Rivas and Tyler Bortnick could not be found on the Rays top 10. Zoom in on Rivas's signature though. $50 says that if he makes the majors, that sig changes a bit.
I''m hitting the jackpot with #10 prospects here as Broxton takes the spot for the Diamondbacks. Kyle Russell did not crack the top 10 for the Dodgers, but 26 HR in 2010 tells me he has some power. But I'm no scout, so...
Ah yes, now this makes the pack! A gold Jose Bautista, ok ok, I can probably find someone interested in that to spark a trade. But the Blue Zimmerman I should have no problem trading! #/500 and 1:32 odds I could have done way worse.

I finally have Mets for you in return for that Mel Ott you sent me. There's an auto and a relic, but unfortunately the relic's die-cut area is heavily damaged... I think you'll enjoy both cards when you see them anyways though.
