Mail Time!!!

Shortly after the trade that brought me my lowest #d Piazza card to date, reader and former Mets prospect Teddy sent me another trade proposal. In the first trade, I saw a 2010 Bowman Dillon Gee that I was interested in (turns out is was a Purple Refrac, didn't know then, now I do!). Teddy said that he was hoping to hold on to it since he played with Gee for a bit in the Minors.

Well it turns out he pulled another Gee Purple, so the trade was on! He grabbed a couple cards off my trade bait page in exchange for said Gee and a 2004 Topps Pristine Lastings Milledge. I shall choose to showcase the Gee...

Gee was the 663rd player picked in the 2007 Amateur draft. 663rd. Honestly, if I were in charge of drafting players, I'd lose interest after like, number 32. Nothing was really expected of him coming out of the draft, as he really only has 2 "above average" pitches, but he has since moved briskly through the ranks. Currently he's in AAA Buffalo for the Mets and has developed 4 dominate pitches. He's also recently earned some respect in the clubhouse which you can read about here. I've always agreed with the idea "You hit our David Wright, we'll hit your Joe Mauer" or hitting a dirty slide culprit. Let them know you're not fucking around. Also, if your face looks like Alex Rodriguez. That deserves a sinker to the nuts as well.

Hopefully Gee can make it to the Mets soon, I'm not saying necessarily this year, but whenever he's ready hopefully he'll make an impact and complete another win for the Underdog!

(...Joe)
