Hello world!
It's been over 9 months since my last post and some of you have gotten sporadic emails from me for trades but I'm ready and raring to get back into the swing of trading again!!!
I've come to realization/conclusion that The Sandlot as a blog will no longer be active, but I fully intend to keep using it as an online catalog for my collections and will regularly update them along with trade bait to help grow my PCs and make trading easier for myself and everyone else.
I dropped by my LCS last weekend and stumbled upon a 5,000ct box cards for an attractive price. I riffled through them real quick and after a few minutes, decided to buy it and take a chance on finding a bunch of Mets and flip the rest in trades. What I found was a box full of '79, '80 and '81 Topps as well as a healthy stack '82 O-Pee-Chee and a slathering of '82 Donruss! There are a handful of '75 and '78 Topps and '81 Donruss as well and some misc stuff. Out of the few '75 Topps, there was a Bill Madlock sporting the Topps Rookie Cup as well as a Robin Yount RC! Yup, just a '75 Yount, hangin' out with his buddies. Granted it's not in the best of shape, a piece of tape is actually holding a 3/4'' chunk of the card together, but it's still quite the surprise!
Some other highlights included:
'78 Topps Mark Fidrych
'79 Topps Gary Carter
'79 Topps Yastrzemski
'79 Topps Jim Palmer AS
'79 & '80 Topps Johnny Bench AS
'79 & '80 Topps Robin Yount
'79 Topps Tom Seaver
'79 Topps Willie McCovey
'79 & '80 Topps Reggie Jackson
'79 & '80 Topps Andre Dawson
'82 O-Pee-Chee Carl Yastrzemksi
'82 O-Pee-Chee Jim Palmer
'82 O-Pee-Chee Steve Carlton
RC:
'75 Topps Robin Yount
'78 Topps Clint Hurdle
'81 Topps Ned Yost
'81 Topps Rusty Kuntz (just cuz)
'82 Donruss Brett Butler
'82 Donruss Dave Stewart
'82 Donruss Terry Francona
All the cards are in either Near Mint or Mint condition with the exception of the '75 Topps. My camera battery is charging right now, so just let me know if you'd like some pictures and I'll be happy to send them! I'll begin checking want lists to try and strike up some trades but if you're interested, please either leave a comment or shoot me an email at thesandotcards@yahoo.com. Thanks guys and I'm looking forward to trading again!

Sorry to hear that the blog won't be carrying on in full. I am actually wondering the exact same thing about mine as well. Either way, it is good to hear from you.
ReplyDeleteI pulled a David Wright All Star Stitches relic from a rack of 2013 Topps Update. Do you need it? If so, I'm sure we can work out a deal for it.
Definitely! Let me know what you'd like or I can pick some Rockie stuff up for you from the card store. Thanks!
DeleteWelcome back and sad to see your planning to hang it up. Maybe you can post every ONCE in a while. Just for me.
